Check This Out

Jack and Jan Cooper were well received by over 100 people at the Spirit Seekers Youth Conference in Grand Prairie.

Congratulations to Cooper Studios Alumnus Kasha Derechey and Guitar Instructor Mitch Smith on their success at the North American Country Music Associations International competition in Pigeon Forge, TN.!

Kasha has won "International Female Vocalist and Entertainer" awards.

The Orchard (Kasha Derechey and her guitar playing partner) Mitch Smith have won the "International Duo award" and the award for "Best International song"

Hi everyone, will see students starting Tues Jan 18th. Ready to go.2011 should be one of the best years we will ever have.To start with I have a meeting with Barbara McGee who is in charge of the entertainment at The Edmonton International Airport.

Strathcona Arts Committee contacted me to provide entertainment on Feb.13th for their Art Expo.Putting together more shows for Overtime Club. My students 12 and under should be getting Disney Songs and songs from such movies as Annie,Oliver etc, for the Overtime Club.

I have already contacted senior condos and homes to perform. We are in the midst of contacting rodeos, festivals and special events. If you know of any please let me know. I will begin a production for APTN, Aboriginal Peoples Television Production and also a tv show associated with Shaw TV.

We will also start private 30 to 40 minute private classes for students from the 7 to 9 pm classes. These will be done in the last week of every month. This will add to the variety of our instructions. I will be working especially hard on the stage performances of our artists. Being a great singer does not always translate in being a great entertainer. I would suggest very strongly that students rent or borrow videos showing top stars and how they work a stage.

With the help of Chris Pickering we will start making our own videos. Very shortly USB's of our singers will be sent to Jan who will be passing them out at The Midem Conference in France.

Other News, Amanda and I will be working on a new vocal video. Also we would like to start classes for 4 to 6 year olds-4 to 5 pm on specific days during the week and possibility Saturdays. We have new instructors who have applied to work with our company. I will be interviewing them when I get back.

I have a list of 20 Ontario country radio stations. Also one radio station in Tillsonburg CKOT, wants to interview certain country singers who are going to the CCMA's in September.

I am also contacting Cafe's all over the place for our singers to showcase and maybe earn a little money.18 and over, get reay to perform at Blues on Whyte.

I would like to also mention, unless an emergency, you must let us know early if you are not coming. We have had last minute notices where an instructor was not needed but had to be paid.Any student in the future who does that will be dropped from the next 3 shows. Attending classes is very important.

I hope all of you saw the picture of Shawna Lynne on The CCMA"s Hamilton Facebook.

Congratulations KASHA!

Keep up to date with our almunus Kasha Derechey who this year won the audience’s hearts and votes, and was declared the winner of the 2010 Global Country Star Search. We are looking forward to your album, Kasha!

O CanadaThe Overtime Club proved to be a great success for the group "STORM" Chelsea,Sarah,Kaeley and Tayler put on a show that any professional would have been proud of. They dresses and sang like seasoned entertainers.Their choreography was great, their dress was perfect for stage and their choice of songs kept the huge audience interested .Definitely one reason for their success was the positive contribution of their mothers MC-Connie,Noreen and Joanne.
